What is Zalgo Text?

Zalgo text is a form of digital art or "glitch text" created by adding excessive Unicode combining characters to regular letters. These combining characters (like accents and diacritics) are meant to modify the letter they follow. By stacking dozens of them on a single letter, the text appears to bleed upwards and downwards, creating a creepy, chaotic, "demonic" or corrupted appearance.

Where to use Glitch Text?

Zalgo text is incredibly popular in internet culture, often used to simulate a glitch in the system or convey a creepy atmosphere. It works great for:

  • Discord: Use it in server names, channel topics, or messages to surprise your friends.
  • Gaming Usernames: Stand out in games that support Unicode characters.
  • Social Media: Add a glitchy aesthetic to your YouTube titles, Twitter posts, or Instagram bio.
  • Creepypasta: The style originated with the "Zalgo" internet meme, making it perfect for scary stories.

Will it break my app?

Sometimes! Because Zalgo text stacks so many characters in a small space, some older apps or websites might struggle to render it correctly, causing lag or weird formatting. Most modern platforms (like Discord, Twitter, and major browsers) handle it just fine, but use maximum craziness with caution!
